The Centre offers various services which include gemstone identification, grading and valuation. So if you have a gemstone and do not know what it is, bring it to us and our gemologists will identify, grade and value it for you. The Centre strongly advises the general public against buying gemstones that they or you are not sure of. The Gemstone Processing and Lapidary Training Centre (GPLTC) with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) who provided the equipment, set up an incubator to help mitigate the employment challenges faced by the graduates. This incubator is currently hard at work producing for mining houses, associations and walk in clientele. The graduates will then be weaned off to the industry and other graduates take their place. The result will be a vibrant gemstone processing industry that will create meaningful jobs for the youth.

The Gemstone Processing and Lapidary Training Centre does not only offer training, It also offers value addition services to the general public as well as mining houses and associations. The center offers Gemstone Tumbling, Cabochon Making, Gemstone Drilling, Gemstone Carving and Gemstone Faceting. So bring your rough gemstones and triple the value.

The Centre which is situated in the industrial area of Ndola on Plot No. 3083A Nakambala road is the only institution in the country that is providing hands-on training in gemstone identification and value addition. The target clients for the Centre are the small-scale miners, gemstone traders, women, youths, school leavers and the general public. Besides this group, the Centre also offers training to government Agencies.
